Bluewater Yoga Studio opened in 1996 for the purpose of offering quality yoga classes in the Red Wing community. It is located upstairs at 323 Main Street in the historic area of downtown.
The teachers at Bluewater Yoga Studio are knowledgeable practitioners in their fields of study including Yoga, the Feldenkrais Method, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). They have been certified as qualified teachers by one or more of the following: the American Viniyoga Institute, the Krishnamacharya Healing & Yoga Foundation, the Awareness Through Movement Guild, and MBSR. Together they reflect a respect for the history and philosophy of the teachings they have received, as well as demonstrate a commitment to the quality of their own teaching. Their experience and understandings combine to provide a class situation which honors the individual in the present moment, yet brings light to a deeper, eternal consciousness.
Bluewater offers classes in yoga which focus on the basic yoga postures, breath awareness, and relaxation techniques, in order to develop strength and flexibility of the body, mental clarity, and a general sense of well-being. The classes respect the differences and needs of each individual, and both group and private classes are available. Yoga is an ever deepening and expanding discipline which, through regular practice, yields unity of body, breath, and mind.
